Background

Indigenous Allied Health Australia Ltd. (IAHA) is the national Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander allied health body. IAHA was established in 2009, from a network of committed allied health professionals, and has grown to an organisation with over 500 members across Australia. IAHA plays a vital role in addressing the health and wellbeing of Australia’s First Peoples. The original IAHA logo was created by artist Colleen Wallace of Utopia, NT. The original artwork depicts people coming together to meet.

Objectives

To establish itself firmly in the Indigenous health space, IAHA needed to develop a strong brand that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People could identify with. The goal in developing the IAHA brand was to maintain culture and tradition within the design, while appealing to a broader audience with a modern, vibrant edge. This brand has been carried throughout all print and online materials since late 2012 – further branding development for IAHA’s annual events has given the organisation a strong presence in the Indigenous and mainstream health spaces.
